Can you believe, it’s a disc with 400 GB storage capacity
Panasonic's scientists have launched an optical disc with a 400GB storage capacity. The trick's behind the disc is making a 16-layer deep Blu-ray disc, and a player with sufficiently clever optics that it can pick up the light scattered by all those layers. The player is also compatible with standard Blu-ray, but for now it's limited to playback only to demonstrate the technology. But apparently in the future you will be able to burn 400GB Blu-ray discs. It’s huge. Isn’t it?
